Penn State to lead research program focusing on transportation infrastructure

Transportation infrastructure in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region is expected to benefit from a multi-university transportation research program led by Penn State, through the Thomas D. Larson Transportation Institute, focusing on improving the durability and extending the life of the nation’s roads, railways, bridges and transit systems.

Penn State’s NSF I-Corps program seeks applications by Sept. 15 and Oct. 15

The National Science Foundation has joined in supporting Penn State’s goal of taking more of its discoveries to market by awarding Penn State a five-year, $500,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to establish the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partner’s TechCelerator, Happy Valley LaunchBox, and Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hubs.

New Penn State center to examine sports in society

Leveraging dozens of faculty with an academic and research interest in sports, Penn State on Nov. 14 announced the creation of the Center for the Study of Sports in Society. The center will be charged with supporting research, teaching, public programs and service across Penn State related to the study of sport and its cultural, economic and social impact.
